Thursday Evenings at The Plaza—Live Jazz from The Hudson Project & Hot DJ Set from The Soundmen

New York

24/Savvy Living: New York, NY

The Plaza Hotel in NYC is over 100 years old and holds an unbelievable amount of Manhattan history. Many of the most iconic people have stayed, lived or held savvy soirees here, and now you too can come and see what it's all about. Elan Artists provides a unique event on Thursday evenings called, “Vintage Meets Modern." It's an evening of live jazz from two exquisite jazz bands—The Hudson Project (March 11th and 25th) and Lapis Luna (March 18th) as well as music by resident DJ-The Soundmen. The event is held at The Rose Club which is on the second floor above the lobby in the hotel. Those savvy enough to know about this get to sit back on plush velvet couches while sipping cocktails or bubbles at one of the most famous hotels in the world—and get this, it’s free—well no cover that is! The drinks aren’t cheap, but the live entertainment is certainly worth it. So why not go check it out? The music starts at 8pm; The Hudson Project (along with sets from The Soundmen) will play until 11pm and The Soundmen will spin until about 12:30am.

Ah I'd love to go there.

I've only been to NY a couple times but things like this are the reason it is my favorite big city

Iconic hotel AND fabulous music, What a TREAT!

Please tell me this will be a repeat event! Love Soundmen.

I was surprise to see how small the famed Oak Room was in the plaza. Not too long ago, the hotel was modernizing and was selling off all sorts of things from furniture to towels. I always worry when historic buildings are updated — nine times out of ten they lose a lot of their charm and appeal.

This sounds like a fun event!
