There's something about holiday festivities that make us want to punch up the effort on our appearance.  Not a full on head-to-toe Glamour Shots® makeover, just a little...you know...sparkle.  Good news, savvy sisters, shimmer is a budget-friendly, versatile product that can add zest to your favorite beauty goods as easily as salt and peppering your favorite dish.  PLUS!  As an added bonus, it can actually lift a sallow, sun-deprived winter complexion and help you look fresher.  Holla!  Here are 5 easy ways to use shimmer, but be careful not to OD on it, just pick one feature to brighten at a time.

Get the Look:

  1. Dust a little shimmer on the apples of your cheeks over your blush for a little cheeky glow.
  2. Turn a shimmer-free lipgloss into a shimmereeey lipgloss by dabbing a little on your lower lip after you gloss and smush lips together.
  3. Dust a little shimmer on your decolletage, shoulders or collarbone for a little St. Tropez pizazz
  4. Rub your eyeshadow applicator (or a Q-tip if you don't want to contaminate) into eye shadow, followed by shimmer powder for a blended shimmer look.
  5. Add a little loose shimmer powder to your foundation or moisturizer and blend on face for an all-over glow.
