Mr. Savvy and I love receiving holiday cards but we're often shaky on displaying them.  Line them up like an army on the mantle and even the faintest breeze will send them flying.  Pile them on the fridge with magnets and it just looks like...a piled on fridge/dumpheap.  This year, we've decided to make artful christmas card creations to kill two birds with one card: holiday decorating and card displaying.

Three Savvy Ways to String Them Up

1) Christmas Card Wreath.
We're generally not in favor of crafts that require a lot of supplies, but this uber cute and easy wreath from Martha Stewart is made from an uber-economical embroidery hoop.

2) Christmas Card Curtain.
All you need for this sweet idea is sturdy, wide ribbon, mini clothespins and an available curtain rod or cheap tension rod.  If you've got wee savvies at home, you can even enlist them to help paint the clothespins.  If you're really crafty, weight the top of the ribbon with a stone, heavy-duty nut, or magnet and hang over a door.

3) Christmas Card Garland. This is also as simple as pie, you just need a piece of sturdy string or ribbon, clothespins and a surface to hang them.  We're draping ours across bookshelves, weighted down by classic tomes.

Savvy Tip: When the holidays are over, save the decorative half of your cards and turn them into next year's holiday postcards, table runners, or give them an encore as a window or wall treatment.
