Our alternate title for this article was "Savvy Seven Ways to Live Within Your Means" but we hedged on it because no one likes to talk about living within one's means.  It's just not a sexy subject.  But it is a savvy subject, and if we've learned anything through these past, financially tumultuous years, we've learned that there is no sweeter way to achieve a sense of well-being than comfortably paying all your bills, indulging in the occasional treat without feeling guilty, having a nice little nest egg on the side and if you are able, sharing with others less fortunate than you. 

It's tempting to think everyone else is better off than you, but the truth is, everyone who can live within their means is Rich.  With a capital R.  I used to make more than twice what I make now and I did not feel rich. I just had a higher bar on what I perceived was "necessary."  Now, Mr. Savvy and I live within our means and we feel like millionaires.  Almost.  And it wasn't hard.  Here are some ways we did it.
