DIY Natural Cold Weather Cure: Easy Scented Bath Salts
The reemergence of cold weather has many of us scrunching down in our coats to the chill, which might make for a warmer stroll, but unfortunately also makes for a scrunched neck, a sore back and achy shoulder muscles.
For me, nothing heals achy muscles and bones or cures colds faster than a warm bath-salt soak, and TRULY nothing tickles is better than a budget-friendly, sweetly scented, warm bath-salt soak.
Making your own scented bath salts is a quickie, 2-step process that takes no longer than the amount of time it takes to fill the bath with warm water.
While the bath is filling....
Step 1: In a clean, dry glass jar, (we love repurposing old mason jars with the clampable rubber-sealed lid, but you can always reuse a pretty makeup container) Combine the following:
- 2 cups of Epsom Salts (about $3 at at any drug store)
- 2 tsps of baking soda
- 10 drops of essential oil (lavender, rose, almond or eucalyptus are faves)
Step 2: Mix together. If you've got an old chopstick lying around, it makes the perfect mixer.
Drop a good dose of salts in the bath, slide your tired, achy body right in and you'll feel better in no time.
