Craving a Pampering? Get Out the Kitchen Staples!

We've talked a lot about using kitchen staples for eating, but what about beautifying?  Why not make tonight an at-home spa night with these simple recipes and you can rejuvenate your skin in minutes--they're easy enough and inexpensive enough do once a week.

Calming Yogurt Mask

  • 1 TBSP plain, full-fat yogurt (organic is best)
  • 1 tsp warm honey

Make it: Combine ingredients, smooth on face and let it sit for 10 minutes.  Rinse with cool water.

Love it: Calms red, irritated skin and moisturizes too!

Exfoliating Brown Sugar Scrub

  • 2 TBSP brown sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon

Make it: Combine ingredients and smooth over face gently in circles keeping a safe distance from your eyes.  Remove with a warm wash cloth.  Remember, this isn't a sandpaper moment, so be nice to your skin!

Love it: Exfoliates dead skin cells leaving skin smoother and brighter

Anti-Aging Banana Mask

  • 1/4 ripe banana

Make it: Mash banana until creamy.  Spread on face and leave for 15-20 minutes.  Rinse with warm water, then splash with cold.

Love it: We're savvy enough to know we can't make wrinkles disappear, but banana helps moisturize skin and leaves it fresh, dewy and younger-looking

Moisturizing Egg Mask

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp oatmeal

Make it: Combine ingredients, smooth on face and let it sit for 5 minutes.

Love it: Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
