Natural Sunburn Remedies Using Household Staples
- Add baking soda to a cool bath and soak for as long as you can handle it or until you get prune hands. Apple cider vinegar also works or, if you’ve got a great drain screen, you can soak in a cool bath with a cup of oatmeal.
- Make a pot of chamomile tea, chill it in the fridge and use it as a toner to smooth over sunburned skin. You can also put it in a mini spray bottle and spritz frequently for relief.
- Apply a 100%, alcohol-free aloe vera gel or split the stem of an aloe plant if you're lucky enough to have one and rub on skin for immediate, cooling relief. Your drugstore’s generic brand will work, just make sure it’s alcohol-free so it doesn't dry out your skin.
