Meet the Makers: India's Story of Hope
Earlier this week Remake released the next instalment of their 'Meet the Makers' series, which explores what happens when we as consumers choose to be informed and buy better.
Remake's mission is to build a conscious consumer movement. We can vote with our dollar, and by knowing the stories behind what we buy, we can use our collective voice and shopping dollars to improve the lives of people who make our clothes.
"Remake travelled to India and documented worker communities, capturing the benefits of ethically run factories. As such, 'Made in India' is a story of hope. In India we find the largest number of child laborers in the world, a result of the cheap labor fast fashion demands. Instead of going to school, these children suffer for our closets. But, ethical fashion helps families through better incomes and worker benefits. When we buy better, children can go to school instead of head to the sweatshops."
We love the work that Remake is doing with the ethical fashion movement, and stay tuned for more details about brands we love that do it better!
