Help Your Makeup Splurges go a Bit Further...
Some beauty products are worth splurging on, particularly foundation, concealer, perfume and hair care. And while we don't mind shelling out money for the good stuff sometimes, we're not so keen on running through it quicker than we need to. Here are some savvy tips for making sure you stretch those pricy products as far as possible.
Foundation: Mix in a little moisturizer with your foundation before applying. Not only will it blend in easier and give you a healthy all around glow, it'll last longer.
Eye/Lip Pencils: Freeze pencils for 10-15 minutes before sharpening to eliminate breakage from too-soft tips.
Perfume: Put a little Vaseline on areas where you apply perfume and spritz on. You can also use unscented baby oil after your shower as perfume loses potency as it begins to evaporate.
Concealer: You need only the tiniest amount of concealer to reduce dark circles or blemishes in a natural way, so apply concealer to the pad of your ring finger and dab gently. Making big dots directly on your skin is just a waste.
Shampoo/Conditioner: Most hair care products are thick and deeply concentrated, so you very likely only need about half of what you're currently using. Put half the amount you normally use in one palm and use your other palm to gather a little water to thin it out. Apply to water-drenched hair, which will ensure your product lathers even more and spreads thoroughly.
