#SpookySeason is officially here and we can’t be more excited! What better excuse to play dress up and become something (or someone) else for the day. But we don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for a costume that is mass produced and likely someone else might have. After all, we are saving money during this season in preparation for the holiday season (check out our article here for simple ways you can too!). So we are sharing some of our favorite savvy Halloween costume hacks that will get you a creative and awesome costume without breaking the budget. Check them out below:

Shop consignment

You can find all sorts of gems for a fraction of the cost. Another bonus: you can get pieces that you can wear even after the dressing up is over!

Use your closet

Take a look in your closet and use items you already have! You would be surprised what costumes you can come up with without even having to spend a dime. 

Get creative with makeup

Invited to a costume party last minute? Makeup is key! The past 2 years I’ve thrown together a costume last minute by getting creative with makeup. If you need inspiration, TikTok and Instagram are great resources for makeup (and hair) ideas.

Tap into your creative side

DIY is a great way to save a bit of coin AND it allows you to ensure you have a one-of-a-kind costume. If you need some inspiration, head on over to Pinterest. There’s an endless supply of ideas there waiting for you!
