Tis The Season...For Netflix :)

Tis The Season...For Netflix :)

The weather is cooler and the days are shorter - the perfect time of year to cuddle up under a snug blanket and binge a show. Check out our recommendations in every genre!

Drama - Dexter: New Blood

Ok, we don’t think we are alone in the opinion that the original Dexter series finale was...not all that good. Don’t get us wrong, we were obsessed with the series as a whole, but we were definitely left wanting more. And guess what?! They gave the people what they wanted!

Watch it on: Showtime

Documentary - Tiger King 2

Joe Exotic is back, baby! Need we say more? This fascination that swept the nation at the peak of quarantine takes it to a new level. Diving deeper into the conspiracies and myths that swirl around this story, and the tiger industry in the USA in general, this season we feel has a bit more meat to it. Definitely worth checking out in our opinion.

Watch it on: Netflix

Reality - The Great British Baking Show

Nothing will get you more in the mood for holiday baking than the newest season of The Great British Baking Show. The witty banter keeps the show fun and lighthearted, while the challenges and what the contestants produce will be sure to impress. If you haven’t seen this favorite yet, you’re in for a (sweet) treat!

Watch it on: Netflix

Comedy - What We Do In The Shadows

We can’t say enough good things about this hilarious series by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Seriously, this American mockumentary comedy horror television series seems to capture the vibe of the time and provide a quirky sense of humor we need in our lives right now. With a perfect “tomatometer” critic score from Rotten Tomatoes, we can’t say it better ourselves then, “carried on the wings of its cast's incredible chemistry and the strongest writing of the series so far, What We Do in the Shadows' third season is scary good.”

Watch it on: FX on Hulu

Animation - Maya and the Three

If you need to know only two words about this new animated series by Jorge R. Gutierrez, they would be “star studded”. The voice cast includes everyone from Zoe Saldana to Queen Latifah, and that’s just naming two! The storyline though is what really makes this a must watch, especially if you’re looking for a fam-friendly option. Without giving away too much, it is a saga about a 15-year-old girl on a quest to save the world and blends Mesoamerican and Caribbean mythologies.

Watch it on: Netflix

Thriller/Horror - Midnight Mass

If you are like us, you couldn’t get enough of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Well, you’re in luck! Midnight Mass, the latest from Mike Flanagan, will not disappoint. With twists and turns that will keep you guessing and supernatural occurrences that will keep your heart rate up, you’re not going to want to come out from under your blanket!

Watch it on: Netflix

Romance - Gossip Girl Part Two

While most articles might list this under “drama”, let’s be honest, Gossip Girl is all about the love triangles and illicit affairs. Our strategy is to go back and watch the original version (as if we needed an excuse) and have a full GG binge session. Girls’ night, get ready!

Watch it on: HBO Max

So pop the popcorn, get on those fuzzy socks, pour a glass of (insert your beverage of choice here), and enjoy! Let us know what you’ll be watching this season in the comments below.
