We’ve talked a lot here at 24 Savvy about mindful decisions to make for ourselves, whether it be what we eat to what we wear. But what about the other members of our families that we love so much - our pets! We think it is just as important to select products for your furry friends that are good for both them and the environment. That is why we are sharing with you some of our top savvy favorites. From food, to toys, to accessories, 24 Savvy has you covered!
Dog Food
When it comes to the best food for your furry friend, we can’t sing praises enough for Wild Earth because it is a Plant-based pet food healthier for your pet and the environment. Their formula was developed by a team of experts that know what is best for pets, including veterinarians, food scientists, and board- certified animal nutritionists. They chose only ingredients with a purpose behind each, including chickpeas, sweet potato, spinach, pumpkin and oats. These ingredients ensure clean, sustainable and tasty plant proteins that offer more protein by weight than traditional dog foods. And not only is it full of protein, they added prebiotics and fibers for optimal digestion, healthy fats and oils for skin and coat health and even amino acids for heart health.
Cat Litter
Being a cat owner ourselves, we know firsthand how important choosing the right litter is. We want a litter that controls odor, is healthy for our pet, isn’t harmful to the environment, and is budget friendly. Unfortunately though, many of the “over the counter” options don’t provide all of these. For example, the most well-known and traditional litters are clay-based. They are generally more widely available and less expensive. However, the process of manufacturing this litter involves strip mining. Strip mining is the removal of all trees, plants, and topsoil which then results in erosion into nearby waterways. Most strip mines are so destructive that they cannot and are not repaired or remediated. Not savvy. Other biodegradable and eco-friendly litters we’ve tried have been abysmal at controlling odors or significantly more expensive. Our favorite solution? World’s Best Cat Litter! We love the Original Unscented option, but they also offer a variety of other options, including lavender scented or multi-cat. Trust us, you’re not going to be disappointed.
Pet Accessories
Like products made for people, many pet accessories use plastic. As our avid Savvy readers know, we try to avoid plastic in our lives.
